Abstract
Relevance
In this study, “deviant” pornography contained children and/or animals. Viewers of “deviant” pornography had a “significantly young” age of first use of pornography than users of “nondeviant” or adult-only pornography.
In this study, 25% of pornography users consumed bestiality/animal pornography – and 7% consumed child pornography. 5% consumed animal, child, and adult pornography.
the “current study suggests men are more likely to self-report the use of adult, animal, and child pornography compared to women. The results also suggested adult pornography use was significantly correlated with animal pornography use, and animal pornography use was significantly correlated with child pornography use.”
Also, “findings suggest that deviant pornography use, specifically child pornography, may follow a Guttman-like progression for some individuals in that they become desensitized and progress from nondeviant forms of pornography to more extreme genres.”
