The Youth Advisory Council: Youth Voices. Real Impact. Youth-Led Change.

Culture Reframed’s Youth Advisory Council (YAC) gives young people a direct platform to address the harms of porn culture, build resilience, and shape how our organization responds to it. We’re giving the next generation a seat at the table to lead meaningful and sustainable change.

With members ages 16 to 24, the YAC functions as a two-way channel: YAC members share feedback and ideas that help shape Culture Reframed’s resources and initiatives, while also helping spread awareness of the organization’s courses and information through our own social platforms and peer networks.

Our goal is to build knowledge and resilience in young people so they’re better equipped to navigate hypersexualized media and to create a space for youth-led advocacy on the issue.

How We’re Tackling the Porn Issue

Porn is shaping how young people think about sex, bodies, and relationships — and not in a positive way. We’re here to change that.

Culture Reframed is the leading science-based organization of researchers, experts, and advocates from around the world working to protect young people from the harms of porn.

Here’s how we’re making it happen:

  • Starting the conversation. Porn’s impact on young people isn’t talked about enough — we’re putting it on the map.
  • Helping young people build resistance. Creating real tools to push back against hypersexualized media and porn culture, not just warnings.
  • Promoting the science. Pushing research forward so the harms of porn are impossible to ignore.
  • Pushing institutions to do better. Schools, tech platforms, and other places young people spend time need stronger safeguards — we’re advocating for them to step up.
  • Fighting for policy change. Because young people deserve real legal protection from porn’s harms, not just good intentions.
