December 2025: What Your Teen’s TikTok Feed Teaches Them About Sex — and How to Address It
Culture Reframed is the premier science-based, global organization working to stop the emotional, behavioral, and sexual harms of pornography to children and youth. Join our online community to receive updates on our work, announcements of upcoming events, and the latest news related to pornography and youth.
With the tremendous support of folks like you, this year we celebrated 10 years of Culture Reframed — a decade of reshaping the conversation about pornography’s influence on young people and empowering adults with the tools they need to protect future generations.
In just the past year, our impact has grown significantly.
- We launched our Youth Advisory Council, through which 12 young people are collaborating to support their peers in building resilience against our hypersexualized culture.
- Our team spoke at more than 40 conferences and events — from the Children and Screens Digital Media & Developing Minds International Scientific Congress to trainings with Children’s Advocacy Centers across the US.
- We hosted three informative and insightful free webinars with leading experts and hundreds of global participants.
- Culture Reframed was featured in 26 news articles and interviews, including two op-eds I co-authored for Ms. Magazine alongside Ashley Judd and Eric Silverman.
- And to help adults take meaningful action, we published three in-depth reports and five easy-to-share fact sheets on the most urgent issues intersecting with the porn crisis.
To continue and expand our work in the year ahead, we invite you to make a donation to our small but mighty nonprofit. Your contribution helps us reach our year-end goal, ensuring that every parent, caregiver, and professional has the knowledge and resources they need to safeguard youth in this ever-changing digital age.
Here’s to another year of making a difference, together.

What Your Teen’s TikTok Feed Teaches Them About Sex — and How to Address It
Your teen might open TikTok to watch dance trends or comedy clips, but within a few swipes, they could be seeing content about “body counts” or appearance-based rating scales. Read our latest article to understand why TikTok’s algorithm can quickly push this sexualized content toward young users (even without them searching for it), how the content shapes teens’ understanding of sex, and what adults can do to address it.
Hear From Gail
Dr. Gail Dines discusses the link between the porn crisis and sex trafficking in a new article published in Ms. Magazine. Research shows that young men who watch porn are more apt to engage in sexual coercion, dating violence, and are more likely to pay for sex, Dr. Dines explains in the article, “Virginia Giuffre’s Posthumous Memoir Is an Indictment of the Men—and Institutions—That Enabled Her Abuse.”
WATCH NOW: Parenting in a Pornified Culture
Today’s tweens and teens are growing up in what Culture Reframed founder Dr. Gail Dines calls “a pornified world”: a landscape overwhelmed with hypersexualized images, pornography, and predators. For many parents and caregivers, the online environment their kids move through every day feels like a whole new world compared to what they experienced growing up. In our latest webinar, Dr. Dines and Dr. Mandy Sanchez unpacked what this environment looks like, how it harms young people, and why trusted adults are more crucial than ever. Watch the recording and read highlights and important tips for parents and caregivers here.
